FOLDING, ENGLISH OAK WRITING DESK, 19 TH C., H 31", L 25", D 24":Folding desk having a padded writing surface with corner pockets (one missing) for a glass insert (not included); two square cubicles for ink wells (one cubicle missing a lid); sleeves on each side for housing pens; vertical letter and paper cubicles in the center and rear of the writing surface; brass clips for securing loose papers are mounted behind the letter cubicles. The writing surface locks open for rigidity and stability. When unlatched, the top folds in half downward and the curved legs fold together in a sissor action. The legs have a fluted and turned stretcher on which the leg pivot. One additional rectangular stretcher.

The writing surface shows wear along with the periphery; wear to the ink cubicles and one is missing a lid; damage at the top of the vertical letter cubicle; damage to the pen sleeves; GA.
