JAPANESE EARTHENWARE & IVORY FIGURE CONVERTED INTO AN INKWELL, WITH FRENCH BRONZE MOUNTS, H 5":The inkwell is primarily earthenware with peony motifs, and contains French Bronze mounts and a carved ivory figural finial at the hinged lid No apparent markings. Circa 1900.
Condition reportThe figure shows some minor cracking-from age. The earthenware has been repaired in several places; at the peak/highest portion (which partially conceals a peony) and near the ivory figural finial-where the earthenware has been drilled. RG
