F. GAUTIER & J. ALBINET DORE BRONZE & ONYX 3 PIECE CLOCK GARNITURE, C. 1855-1885, H 28", 24":Lot includes: clock surmounted by a Eugène Louis Lequesne (French, 1815-1887) dore bronze sculpture of a standing vestal, H of sculpture is 17" with the sculpture signed by the sculptor as well as bearing the Gautier & Albinet Éditeur foundry mark, total H of clock with the sculpture is 28", the onyx clock face is signed "F. Gautier & J. Albinet (most of that part of the mark is 'rubbed' off), 3 Rue des Fosses Montmartre" with the works stamped with the Gautier & Albinet Paris oval mark as well as the Vincenti & Cie1855 Medaille D'Argent circular mark, works numbers 5569 and 512; pair of 5 light candelabra are 24" high, the onyx being carved and turned, are hung with widely spaced prisms and have a dore bronze female oval mask reserve on the recto of the base.
Condition reportImpressive, high quality set with excellent detail. Some small chipping to the onyx including slightly in the clock face; some patina wear including to the sculpture; no winding key or pendulum, therefore working order of clock is not known. Rf
