Unusual folk art open shelf cabinet with carved stars, oak leaves, rosettes, lions, sphinxes, grapes and birds, signed “Built by E.O. Kelsey” and dated 1899, found in Newburyport, Mass. 60”h.x30”w.x21”d.
Condition reportBottom backboard replaced, losses to mirror silvering, water stains to shelves, front doors- losses to one carved lion, missing hardware, the other carved lion missing altogether, overall scratches, dents, nicks, etc. as you might expect to see. Nice detail, has brass ˝ round molding on the edges of shelves, very interesting piece.
