late 18th century, worked in various stitches on a circular silk ground depicting a boy and a girl at play beneath a tree beside a stream and a house, the figures having paper faces and hands, set in a parcel gilt verre eglomise frame decorated with ribbon-tied laurel wreaths.
Height overall 18 7/8 x width 18 7/8 inches.
