Contemporary aluminum and black leather Chesterfield style sofa designed by John Vesey. American, circa 1950. Length 94". Condition: The leather upholstery is cracked and worn. With three small holes front left side. Missing two buttons. During his short-lived 20th century career, American designer John Vesey had a great impact on modern furniture. His creations implemented contemporary media such as metal, glass, and leather yet were inspired by his Harvard education in museum studies and his work as an eighteenth century furniture dealer. The result is beautiful and accessible modern design.
