Description Helmet - closed helmet - Circa 1560. Fine form, two piece visor with decorative air vents on both sides of lower visor. Lower visor locks in place with a spring latch. The top of the upper visor is scallop decorated. The left side of the upper visor is also pieced with decorative breaths. Sight is accented with double line engraving. Top of comb, pierced with triangular hole, to allow for parade mount atop helmet; plume holder on rear of helmet. Two neck lames, front and back. Rope border decoration at base. Locking peg device each side of lower lame. Peg locks on each side of lower lames, to lock neck defenses. Spring actuated lock to secure the lower visor to the front skull component. Both lifting pegs have been replaced. Helmet displays two good armorer touch marks on the rear, lower right side of skull, adjacent to plume holder. One mark with initials, "H" over "S". The other mark appears to be a shield with indecipherable inner design. Two main bolts and decorative nuts holding the visors to the skull are also replacements. Inside helmet, mostly original rivets remaining as well as some leather stripping under rivets, although as to be expected, some rivets have been replaced.

Gorget - (neck piece) - Circa 1560. Same touch marks as helmet and pauldrons appear. Leather has been replaced, new rivets for leather.

Right Pauldron - (arm defense) - Piece displays a third touch mark right below belt buckle. Hand welded with lamination marks. Leather and some rivets have been replaced.

Left Pauldron - (arm defense) - Circa 1560. Does not display touch marks. Leather as well as some rivets have been replaced.

Right Gauntlet - (hand defense) - 19th Century replacement.

Left Gauntlet - (hand defense) - Circa 1560. Displays touch mark. Gauntlets appear similar, however original was copied later, showing noticeable differences.

Back Plate - Period 1560. Displays same touch marks as helmet, gorget and pauldrons. Rear tasset lames are original. Leather has been replaced as well as some rivets. Original patch repair appears on inside of back plate.

Breast Plate - Circa 1560. Same touch marks as other pieces. Lance rest is a 20th century addition. Five lames attached to bottom of breast plate are period, while some leather and rivets have been replaced.

Right Tasset - (upper thigh defense) - Circa 1560. Touch mark appears on lower right corner of lame. Some leather and rivets have been replaced.

Left Tasset - (upper thigh defense) - Circa 1560. "H/S" touch mark appears on lower left corner of lame. Some leather and rivets have been replaced.

Cuisse - (thigh defenses) - Both are later replacements, not period.

Greaves and sabatons - (shin guards and foot guards) - Circa 1560. Hand forged with a lot of lamination markings. Do not display touch marks.

Chainmail suit - consists of pieces of original suit, with original hinged links. Some links are solid replacement links.
Condition (Very Good - Excellent). Size Approx. 75" T.
