Description German or Italian. Circa 1600. Eight-sided pommel silver inlaid with birds, leaves, and scroll designs. Each panel bordered in inlay with original nut on top silver inlay. Crossed guard and ring silver inlaid with similar designs, even along the top edges. Flatter haft of blade is deeply engraved on both sides. Blade with pronounced armor piercing, medial ridge down center of each side. Copper wrapped grip with copper Turkshead knots still intact at top and bottom. Copper is unraveling with some loss. Blade is 10 - 1/2" long. Nice even patina with light to moderate pitting overall. Some silver inlay is missing but not enough to detract from the overall appearance.
