Description School: Pennsylvania. Circa 1840 to 1860. Overall length: 53 – ˝”. Caliber: .28. Barrel length: 38 – ˝” (original). Octagonal barrel. Percussion mechanism. Oval patchbox. Curly maple stock. Patched 10 – ˝” x ˝” silver on right forestock. No carvings. One original silver inlay. This late percussion rifle has a good curly maple stock with 10 – ˝” x ˝” silver on the right hand upper forestock with an exceptionally nice “spiral-engraved” nose-cap, obviously re-cycled from an earlier rifle!
