Nuremberg, ca 1720-1730, a celestial globe with twelve hand-colored paper gores applied on a papier mâché sphere, with wooden meridian and octagonal wooden horizon bar, both with printed paper, the stand with applied hand-colored paper ring, resting on finely turned legs with cross stretchers centered on a turned ring with turned pedestal supporting the globe, marked within a small cartouche Sculp. et impressd. / Jacobi ad Hardé /Joh. Christoph Weigel exec. / Nuremberg (Translated, Engraved and printed by Jacobi ad Hardé, Johan Christoph Weigel, made in Nuremberg); ht. 13 in., dia. with horizon bar 13 in., globe dia. approx. 8 in.
