Kentucky Folk Art Drawing of Pigs
Cynthiana, Kentucky, 1885, a pencil and mixed media drawing of a boar, sow and piglet, titled Berkshire Pigs, signed C.T. Delling, and dated 1885, framed under glass; 13.5 x 14 in. A History of Bourbon, Scott and Nicholas Counties lists Christian T. Delling as owner of a clothing/furnishings business in Cynthiana, KY. Born in Saxony, 1824, Delling learned the trade of wool and silk weaver. He came to the United States in 1848, first to Pennsylvania, then to Ohio, and on to Kentucky, settling in Cynthiana in 1852.
