Tennessee Agricultural Coin Silver Awards
American, 1868, a coin silver medallion with beaded inside edge and engraved inscription on one side reading "This medal was awarded to Stallion COMMODORE /Owned by John Sliger /with five of his get.(sic)/by the L.C.A.S. of 1868 /as a token of high Merit /Wm. Veach, Pres./J.W. Bigelow, Sec", there are the engraved portraits of the stallion Commodore surrounded by five of his progeny on the verso; dia. 2 in., wt. 1.625ozt (50.5g). PLUS a heavy coin silver goblet, probably Tennessee, mid-19th century, hand-hammered with applied beading and Greek key band at top, and partially engraved "Awarded by West Tenn.
