Alvar Aalto. '403' armchair, designed in 1930-32. H. 76.5 x 54 x 60 cm. Made by Huonekalu-ja Rakennustyoetehdas Oy, Turku. Birchwood, plywood, seat painted black.
Condition reportOriginally designed for the waiting area of Paimio sanatorium. This early version shows the seat not lying on the lateral ribs of the frame. Screws replaced.
