Burmese Kalaga

This is a magnificent piece of work. A HUGE Kalaga from Burma that was bought across the border to Thailand over 40 years ago. Our research has revealed that Kalaga's of this size are incredibly rare. Silver and Gold color threads are interwoven with multi colored glass beads and small silver disks that on testing are copper covered in silver, a production method that was stopped many years ago. Raised panels show a traditional journey scene. condition is considered better than average. This piece is a museum quality textile which would have taken years of work to complete and would look great on any wall or entrance way. Height: 70 in. (177.80 cm) Width: 128 in. (325.12 cm)
