Meiji Period, Late 19th Century, carved throughout with birds, trees, flowers, dragons and foliage, varied colored decoration of (Hiramaki-e) (Gyobu-Nashiji) (Kirikane-Nashiji) enclosing an arrangement of sliding and hinged doors, the latter with ivory knobs with turn latch that locks, open shelves and miniature temple on a dragon-carved stand and scrolled columns with two ivory monkey figures. L: 53 in. x W: 24 in. H: 95 in.
