Flanked by Cupid holding a harp resting on the clock, as he romances a winged nymph, the mantel clock is surrounded with a border of tightly packed rose blooms and leaves, and bears a chased and embossed face plate with Roman numerals to indicate time, set in a rectangular case with moulded floral borders on top, and beneath it with a scene depicting Cupid as he pours liquid unto a hearth while a scantily clad lady reclines against a garden of flowers and shrubs. All on a rectangular plinth with typical mythology figural scene on four round feet. The clockwork stamped on the case with "295441." H: 17 3/4 in.(45cm)
