CHINESE MAMMOTH IVORY FIGURAL CARVING

From the private collection of a gentleman from California. Of slightly reclining Hotei flanked with children beneath a boulder and pine trees, a large peach is found in one corner. The back of the boulder hand-painted with black ink of ladies wearing beautiful robes and conversing amidst rockwork. Inscription and signature at the top right hand of the boulder. Another signature on the base of the figure. Fitted on a carved wooden stand. L: 4 3/4 in.(12cm) x H: 5 in.(12.5cm)
