Tang YiFen (1778-1853), whose given name is “ Ruoyi” and who styled himself as “Yusheng”, “Qinyin Daoren” (Chinese pronunciation for Hidden Taoist who plays an instrument ), “Shanwai Shanren” and “Zhouweng”. He comes from the family of the official during the Qing Dynasty. He specialized in writing poems, drawing landscape, pine trees and plum blossom painting inspired by Dong Qichang's style, detached and unique. One of his most famous paintings was the lovely plum blossom. He also later wrote “The Qin Yinyuan Poetry Collection”.
He lived in Wujin (Changzhou, Jiangsu Province today). He died by drowning himself in the pool while the Taiping army occupied Nanjing city.
