20th Century
The sculpture depicting a crowned victorious Roman man forcibly lifting a struggling Sabine woman from her mother; she struggles with arms held aloft while her mother grabs her daughter's robe; all raised on a naturalistic rocky base with conforming plinth; unsigned. This Florentine theme from the sixteenth century done in the style of Giovanni da Bologna.
Condition: Good repair to uplifted left arm at shoulder. Overall good condition. 43 1/2 x 16 x 17 inches ( 110.5 x 40.6 x 43.2 cm)
