A PAIR OF LIFE-SIZED HAND-CARVED GRANITE DALMATIANS
20th Century
The large block of speckled granite is hand-carved into a pair of seated Dalmatians with expectant expressions and drooping ears; featuring inlaid eyes and nose and the breed's signature spots on the body. The muscularity of the dogs' bodies and hind quarters is evident, and each has its tail curling around a back leg. The hand-carving is evident in the slight differences in the cant of the head and the articulation of the toes on each paw.

Condition: Honed finish; very minor chips at base visible only under close inspection. Overall very good condition. 38 x 27 x 14 inches (96.5 x 68.5 x 35.5 cm)
