A LOUIS XV STYLE TORTOISESHELL AND GILT BRONZE CLOCK GARNITURE
France, 19th Century The garniture consisting of an eight-day mantel clock with a porcelain plaque face featuring Roman numeral hours and Arabic numerals for the minutes; with a spiral chime. The face set in a tortoiseshell veneer and faux tortoiseshell enamel shield form case with a bold gilt bronze C-scroll frame and feet. Shown with an attendant pair of five-light candelabra set on plinths and gilt bronze feet. The clock mechanism stamped ""Japy Frères et Cie"" ""10065"" ""9 . 10"" and below ""A . 1"" Includes pendulum but not the winding key.
