A PAIR OF MEISSEN/KPM STYLE GILDED, PAINTED, AND ENAMELED COBALT PORCELAIN VASES
German Each tall cobalt amphora-shaped footed vase featuring two rectangular painted reserves and two gilded moulded “handles” in the form of a female sphinx seated on a plinth above a bearded male head; one reserve depicting an ancient Roman scene of women and Cupid, the other with a view of an ancient Roman garden; the neck having two small round reserves with profile male portrait heads; a dark blue over-glaze maker's mark on underside.
