AN ITALIAN RENAISSANCE STYLE CARVED WALNUT CASSONNE
19th Century
The locking walnut plank top with half bullnose edge is supported by a chip carved frieze over a panelled body of high relief carved knights with shields and lances that flank two scenes of the triumphant with standard arriving at the palace gates. The sides feature recessed panels with wrought iron handles. All supported by a stepped bullnose apron featuring incised carving and raised on shaped feet with incised scroll work and carved lion masks. Includes key.

Condition: Warping to top and minor age cracks. Minor chips to corner and top. Patination to finish. 26 x 72 x 26 inches (66 x 183 x 183 cm)
