AN AMERICAN BIEDERMEIER STYLE MAHOGANY SECRETARY
Late 19th Century
The plateau pediment with concave stepped moulding is supported by a frieze containing a locking drawer with matchbook flame mahogany. The recessed, locking fall-front face is flanked by two carved Corinthian columns. Inside the desk are seven drawers (the top drawer appearing as three individual drawers) have ivory pulls and surround a recessed locking door. The lower flame mahogany cabinet contains three graduated drawers and is raised on plinth block feet.

Condition: Restorations, wear to finish. 62 1/2 x 43 x 21 inches (158.8 x 109.2 x 53.3 cm)
