AN ITALIAN EBONIZED AND GILTWOOD MIRROR
The recumbent hand-carved and ebonized putti with one arm supporting acanthus plumes and the other a laurel and floral garland while leaning on an ebonized and parcel gilt shield adorned with florets. The bodies dramatically transform into bold acanthus flourishes and are supported by an arched giltwood crest at the top of a rectangular frame of relief carved acanthus with conforming moulded filet surrounding aclear mirror plate.

Condition: Minor shrinkage cracks at corners. Patination and rub through on gilded finish. 81 x 54 1/2 x 4 inches (206 x 134 x 10 cm)
