A PAIR OF LARGE CHINESE CARVED, GILDED, AND VENEERED BONE VASES ON STANDS
Late 20th Century Each vase having a four-sided baluster form with trapezoidal sides and an in-curving base and neck; the pictorial elements carved in low relief, with incised details stained in black and sienna and with gilded highlights; each neck panel depicting an attribute of the Eight Immortals, each main panel below depicting two of the Immortals in an outdoor setting carrying their attribute and separated horizontally by a flying crane; the vases resting on low square fitted stands with bracket feet, each side incised with a central flower roundel surrounded by clouds; most of the surfaces finished with clear enamel; each vase with a metal interior liner. .
