A COMPANION PAIR OF AUSTRIAN ROCOCO STYLE GILTWOOD CLEFT CHAIRS
19th Century
One chair with asymmetric treble cleft motif of the pierced back is delicately proportioned with the inner scroll joined by the outer scroll by acanthus carving featuring a putti in the center. The other chair features C-cleft motif with pierced carved back of overlapping C-scrolls with a dancing cherub in the center.

Chipping to gilding and wear to finish commensurate with age. Gold on blue woven floral fabric in good condition.
