A JAPANESE CIRCULAR HAND-CARVED FRETWORK PEDESTAL WITH BRONZE MOUNTS

The inverted vase form of the stand begins with a circular reserve surrounded by a convex apron of carved open fretwork punctuated by cabriole legs with bronze lion mask mounts at the knee and carved lion paw feet. All stabilized by a circular stretcher with pierce carving featuring a pierced bronze stretcher medallion.
Condition: Inactive worm damage and two age cracks; patination to finish. 24 x 27 x 27 inches (61 x 28.6 x 28.6 cm)
