Classical Persian court carpets comes to life once more on this magnificent piece. Dark blue background, the field is completed by cornerpieces echoing the detail and coloration of the medallion. A superbly detailed border on a brown/rust ground continues the effect of the cornerpieces, providing a still larger, unified frame for the complex field design. Very fine silky New Zealand wool on cotton foundation.
