Impressionistic style painting titled "Norway," depicting sunset with ocean foreground, mountain background. Signed LR. Walter Parson Shaw ( 1861-1935) American artist, born in Maine, studied in France, partook in the Barbizon school with Frances Millet, associated with Henri Mattise, very good friend of Childe Hassam, his style evovled with the various influences. Plate on frame: "Norway" Walter Griffin N.A. 1861-1935, 13.5"H x 23.5" W sight, 22" H x 32" W frame. Private collection West Bloomfield Mi.
