Rare Chinese northern Song Period (960-1127AD) two handled jade cup. This thinly carved 8 petal shaped cup made from jade is beautifully covered with light copper foil giving it an aged green patina of Ferrous Oxide effects. Measures 7" length from handle to handle x 2" height (17.8cm x 5.1cm). Total weight of 178 grams. Provenance: Exhibited in 1997 at the Cornell fine art museam, entitled "Treasury of the Chinese Nobility".
