Silver was still pouring out of the great Western mines when the principal Philadelphia Mint struck these no-mintmark 1883, 1884 and 1885 Morgan silver dollars for circulation. But a large proportion was held in reserve at banks and theTreasury. And huge numbers of those were lost forever in U.S. government melts during the world wars. Today as little as 3% of original mintages are estimated to survive in the beautiful Brilliant Uncirculated quality we offer.38.1mm
