King James I and VI of Scotland
Letter superscribed by the king dated 7th October 1612, commencing "Right trusty and well beloved Cozen an Counsellor and other our trusty and well beloved counsellars We greet you well. Humble suite being made unto us in the behalf of Sir Thomas Kirkpatrick of Closeburn", one leaf, recto

The King requests his concillors to suffer no execution to be carried against the lands of Sir Thomas Kirkpatrick or attachment against his person for a year provided he pay interest at 10% on his debts.
