Li'l Abner daily, 1/23/73, 5 1/2"x19". Author John Steinbech called cartoonist Al Capp one of the greatest writers of the 20th Century. Capp's ground-breaking Li'l Abner strip started in 1934 as an adventure of hillbilly Abner in the big city, but gradually changed into a satire of American attitudes and politics.
