AN ANTIQUE CHINESE MOTHER-OF-PEARL INLAID AND HARDSTONE MOUNTED BLACK LACQUER CABINET, LATE QING DYNASTY, of rectangular form and having an inlaid diapered ground interspersed throughout with parcel-gilt circular shields enclosing various auspicious symbols, foliage, vessels and animals above paired doors centering inset panels depicting an ivory faced nobleman scholar and maiden attendants strolling about a multi-tiered pavilion and walled garden of ancient pines with a stylized scholars boulder within borders of carved soapstone fruiting or blossoming branches and diapered corners, flanked by sides of flower filled sacred vessels, on a conforming stand with parcel-gilt fluttering bats and inset paneled drawers with confronting scrolling dragons, raised on gilt scrolled fretwork block feet.
