A PAIR OF VINTAGE CHINESE PARCEL GILT AND SILVER LEAF RED LEATHER MARRIAGE CHESTS, FIRST-HALF 20TH CENTURY, each of rectangular form and having a hinged lid centering a bird amongst blossoming stems and a stylized scholar's stone beneath character mark inscription and diapered corners above a front enclosing boys frolicking in a walled garden flanked by butterflies amidst various flora and sacred rock formations under curved wrought-iron handles, raised on conforming carved hardwood stands. Height: 12 3/4" Width: 24 5/8" Depth: 16 1/4"
