A PAIR OF VICTORIAN SILVERED AND PARCEL GILT BRONZE OSTRICH EGG CANDLE STANDS, BY THOMAS ABBOTT, MID-19TH CENTURY, each realistically modeled as a standing ostrich with long serpentine neck wearing a coronet form necklace beneath a foliate modeled support beneath a natural ostrich egg surmounted by an acanthus cast bobèches and scrolling nozzle, raised domed stylized rockwork, inscribed "ABBOTT" on underside. Height: 21 3/8"
