Description: 15th.-16th. century Florentine art school framed oil painting on wood representing Virgin Mary. The painting is framed in an old gilded frame matching the Florentine style. The painting still has part of the original gilding and possible was separated from a larger painting. The painting is intact, but probably had some restoration done over the centuries on the edge. The image of Virgin Mary resembles the paintings of Domenico Ghirlandoio (Madonna with child c. 1470) and Piero di Cosimo (The nativity with infant St. St John and Jesus c.1500, both from National Gallery of Art.
