Description: 17th. century German glass beaker hand decorated with enamel featuring a hunting scene with boar and pursuing dog. The beaker is dated 1683 and has the following inscription in German: Irgenaut sergener horid macht luft und freid". The stem is decorated with a glass applique featuring a pink serpent. According to the provenance paper (attached) this artifact was discovered in an archeological digging in Israel at Dan Hotel in Herzlya (a neighboring town near Tel Aviv". The beaker was auctioned in Israel on October 7, 1998 and at that time the estimate was $1500-!800. The beaker was repaired with metallic staples in the lower part, nevertheless, the design was not affected (it features a floral design and a hunt scene with a boar and hunting dog. Height: 7.5" (19 cm.). Diameter at top: 5" (13 cm.). This is an unique item of historic importance and enigmatic discovery.
