18th. century Tibetan box with hand paintings

Description: Antique Tibetan wood box covered with yak skin painted with polychrome zoomorphic decorations featuring an elephant procession on front panel and floral decorations. Length: 14" (36 cm.), width: 8" (20 cm.), height: 11.8" (30 cm.). There are no hinges and the lid is attached to the trunk through 2 large metal rings. Also no nails were used and the box is held together by metal hinges that connect 2 facets. Estimated value: $7000.
