18th. century Indonesian silver long dagger with repous

Lot Passed

Description: 18th. century Javanese long dagger with exquisite repousse floral pattern decorations on the silver covering the scabbard and hilt. A frog hook is located on the posterior side of the dagger and used for the suspension to the belt. The blade is serpent shaped and contains a large percentage of meteoric iron. Intricate damascene pattern is displayed on the blade with at least 7 vertical visible layers. Length: 18.8" (48 cm.). Blade's length: 11" (28 cm.).
Condition: Excellent for the age
