Description: Antique egg shell porcelain vase dating to the reign of emperor Gwang Hsu (1875-1908)-early Republic. It is inscribed with the 6 characters seal mark of emperor Qien Lung but as with many of the high end porcelain items of the period are marked with an earlier emperor reign period. As proof of being antique porcelain, it is marked China indicating a period of 1891 to 1921. These late Qing period-early Republic (minguo) recently achieved high auction prices in the mid 5 figurs.The sides are hand decorated with enamel featuring an official with 2 children playing with a goose. The enamel painting is of the highest quality imitating very well the famous Qien Lung porcelain vases. Height: 9.1" (21 cm.). Widest diameter: 3.5" (9 cm.). Estimated value: $9.800. A similar vase fetched $25.000 on a recent auction!
