This is a beautiful Louis XIII style beveled mirror from France. The frame is painted wood, and the entire piece is in very good condition. It is circa 1900.The frame is painted in a pale grey/green and has highlights of pale gold paint. There is an espagnolette centered on the top molding. Crowning her head is a ruff painted in muted gold, while a drapery sway ends in leaves beneath her chin. From her hair, are flowing garlands of fruit and trailing foliage. The gadrooned egg and acanthus leaf decoration is bordered on the interior by beading. A newer, beveled glass mirror was added at some point in its history. This is a stunningly simplistic piece, suitable for formal or country decor.H=81, W=41
