It is most likely a re-cast, and it is in very good condition.Louis Guillaume Fulconis 1818-1873H=21 1/2This magnificent antique French patinated bronze statue is of Eros with his bow pointing to the heavens. The bowÍs string was broken long ago ; however, it does not detract from the beauty and artistry of the piece as a whole. It is signed ñFulconisî on the quiver holding his arrows, meaning love, which is to the right of his feet. The flaming torch, meaning, setting oneÍs heart on fire, is to the left. There are two falcons perched next to the torch.
