French Louis XIV Style Slant Front Desk

This antique slant front desk was made of European oak circa 1800. It is in good antique condition, besides cracking in the leather writing surface.This beautiful, French Louis XIV desk has all the ornamentation of the period. The slant has c-scrolls terminating in rosettes. The bottom doors are decorated with intertwining s-scrolls, acanthus leaves, and stylized irises. The sides are paneled and the top has a wooden gallery surround.The interior of the desk has a set of 3 wooden drawers on either side of the interior and one drawer at the center. The pull down surface has an inset of leather with gilt embossing around the edges.H46"x W49"x D21"
