Louis XV Style Slant Front Desk-18th Century FranceThere are no more than two or three regions that can lay claim to the circle motif (top, center): Brittany, Bearn, and the Basque country. In Brittany, we call them ñGalettesî and in Basque we call them ñCuls de Bouteillesî. In our opinion, this desk is from the Basque country in the region of Soule, but not far from Oloron en Bearn. The rest of the d_cor and structure of this desk is typical Louis XV Basque. In Bearn, the Louis XIII dominates.H=41 1/4, Max Depth=25 3/4, L=52 1/2
