An Antique French Gothic Style Trunk of European Oak with Iron Hardware _ Condition: Nicks, Scratchs, Age separations to wood; no key but latch closes _ Circa 1800 This stately, small trunk has ornamentation of the French Gothic period and iron hardware on the front. The sides and back are plain. The feet are elongated and shaped block These antique French trunks were great for storage and transported easily by horse and buggy to summer houses. Today, trunks are great pieces in front of beds, standing on their own for toys, blankets, or used as small end tables or coffee tables.
