Louis XV 19th century inlaid tray table from France. Scalloped table has a beautiful bouquet of inlaid woods in the center of the walnut,dark and light ,surrounded by a quarter inch band of satinwood which follows the scroll of the table. Topped with a removable tray also scalloped to the design of the table and the original glass which allows for viewing the inlay below. Hand carved handles as well as floral carving on the other two sides. The deep apron shows additional exception open work carving on all 4 sides and curled open acanthus leaf carving on the knees. Stands on cabriole legs with escargot feet. All in wonderful condition. The tray edges,apron and legs were obviously antique cream originally with the darker inlaid top. The cream has worn with age showing the walnut in places alongside. No peeling,very soft to the touch with hand sanding and waxing so that all surfaces are level. Wonderful size for a coffee table or side table. Excellent craftsmanship and sturdy construction. Measures 19H X 21.75W X 26L.
