Pair of stunning hand made and carved mahogany Bergere chairs from France crafted mid 19th century. Beautiful ornate,delicate carving on the open arms and extending down the knee and complete front reeded legs. Scrolled back upper frame,rosette ,medallion carving on each wing with finial center back motif. Back legs are flared with no carving. Still stuffed with the original straw and horsehair as seen where the fabric has split on one front. The springs in excellent shape,combined with wood interior ,all other areas still well padded,crowned high and tight,ready for new upholstery.Originally tufted arms either side could be replicated with brass nail head trim worth repeating or a tufted back if preferred as well as the mix of velvet backs and brocade patterned front. Extremely comfortable. Frames in excellent condition and sturdy. Wonderful craftsmanship with good weight. Measure 41.5H X30.5L X 21.5D .
