Magnificent unique walnut burl table from England,hand made,C.1865-75. Some British used as a magazine rack table,others as a bar table or both. Fabulous booked and matched scrolled burl top with satinwood inlay at both corners and larger inlay center back. A thin satinwood inlaid lining follows the outline on the interior. Rope brass railing supported with 4 turned spindles on the top back edge. Four carved legs with unique design connect the top to the base below with 2 large sturdy ornately carved compartments for magazines or to hold decanters and glasses. Seven pierced carvings along the sides and back,each with slight differences and thickness due to the hand carving. Thick railing connects. Below, a deep scalloped drawer for storage. The oval shape is finished on all sides for use out in a room or against the wall. Stands on double ball legs with wheels attached. Excellent craftsmanship and condition. Sturdy with no nicks,scratches or chips. Measures 35.5H X 27L X 17D.
